Installation

How do I install Blocksmith?


Follow the steps for creating at profile here. After creating an account go to the product tab and select download.
After downloading, Your operating system may prevent you from installing the software. Select More info then "run anyways"




How do I install Unity?


To install and use Unity first install Unity Hub following these steps here. In order to install the Unity Engine you have to first sign up for an account and add a license, both of which are free and can be done through the Unity Hub. When selecting a Unity version select the 2020 (LTS) and follow the rest of the steps. Note, none of the additional modules are required to install but Visual Studio is recommended.




How do I start coding in Python?


In order to start coding in python you need the Python programming language and the Visual Studio Code editor. Follow this guide here to get it all set up.




How do I install Unreal Engine?


Unreal Engine requires an Epic Games account and the Epic Games launcher, follow this guide here for the step by step process.

When picking the Engine version select 4.26.1

Note: The Epic Games Laucher is a videogame store and platform so if you would like to hide this side of the launcher you can in "Settings > Hide Game Library"




How do I install Blender?


To install Blender follow this guide here.

The versions of Blender get updated frequently but as long as your version is 2.9 or newer it will work.




How do I start modeling in SketchUp?


SketchUp has free web based version that we will use for all STEM Forged classes. head to app.sketchup.com to sign in or create an account.




How do I install FL Studio?


FL Studio is a paid sound design program, however they have an unlimited free trial that we will use for classes. go here to download the program.




How do I get started with Web Developement?


To get started with web development all you need is Visual Studio code, head to the download page here.




How do I get started with Pixel art?


In order to start making Pixel art and 2D sprites head on over to https://www.piskelapp.com/. From here you can immediately start making sprites, but in order to save you'll have to create an account (It's free).

What if I have multiple students that I want to sign up?


Accounts can have multiple subscriptions on them. Once you've finished signing up the first, head back to the Plans & Pricing page to select the next subscription. If you would like a trial for the second student reach out to our team and we'd be happy to set up a custom coupon for you!




When do payments come out?


Payments come out every week on the day that you originally sign up.
